Weekly orders for delivery before Christmas Week (w/c Monday 21 December) can be placed in the usual way from 10.30 am every Sunday – orders close at 9:30 am on Monday (or sooner if all delivery slots filled) for delivery on Thursday/Friday. A ‘count-down’ clock shows at the top of the screen when we’re open for orders.

Home Farm Shop

Kingweston, Somerton, Somerset

Home Farm at Kingweston is run by Ashley’s brother Harvey, and the family have been there for over 100 years. Ashley runs the farm shop and supplies high quality Somerset meat to other local farm shops and to discerning hotels and restaurants.

Ellie, who is the butcher responsible for preparing the orders for Somerset Local Food, has an MSc in Ecology and is passionate about sourcing pasture fed meat from small family farms who care for and protect the local natural environment, because she understands the contribution livestock make to maintaining the biodiversity in the soils which improves soil health, preserving pasture land which sequesters carbon in the soil and provides habitat for diverse populations of native insects and species.

“We have always had a passion for good quality locally produced  food.  All our quality meats are from the local area, reared to the highest welfare standards, and are traditionally hand prepared and hung to develop their tenderness and flavour.”

Pork comes from outdoor reared pigs belonging to James Mitchell at Rumwell near Taunton, lamb from several farms in the Taunton area and beef, including Red Devon breed, from the Blackmore Vale on the Somerset/Dorset border.
