Godney Aquaponics

Godney, Somerset

Both with a background in nature conservation, Melvyn Yeandle and Sally Mills set up their new horticultural business in the Somerset village of Godney to provide fresh local food for local people as sustainable as possible.

Primarily set up to supply the surrounding local businesses and villagers, their aim is to work sympathetically with the local environment and reduce food miles, and Sally is now a regular sight on her bike delivering fresh local produce to homes in the village, and helping to ensure the food served at the Sheppey Inn is everything its reputation deserves!  Their ambition is not only to produce traditional fayre, but to bring something slightly different to people’s plates, with a focus on health and wellbeing.

Although not currently certified as organic, they do grow naturally without the use of pesticides and aspire to complete the organic certification process as quickly as possible
