Born in 1938, Arthur David began his working life in Somerset, working in agriculture before moving to Bristol to marry his wife Diana. It was after this move that Diane’s father invited Arthur to work with him in their greengrocer business and it wasn’t long after that Arthur set up his own company in 1962.
After several years operating from central Bristol, Arthur was missing the countryside and decided to get back to his rural roots and moved out in to the beautiful Chew Valley. The business is run today by Arthur’s eldest son Phil from their base at Hillside Farm, Sutton Wick in Somerset.
The company still supports the local economy sourcing fresh local produce from Somerset and West Country farmers whenever possible and as a valued employer, employing local people in local jobs.
