The first modern apple orchards were planted by Major Hal Hoskyns in 1930 on land that had been in the family since the mid 1700’s. Jonathan is the third generation to manage the farm, which grows apples, pears and fodder crops for neighbouring dairy farmers.
The farm also grows over 100 tonnes of cider apples for the Shepton Cider Mill and a few plums are grown for sale in the farm shop. A significant apple juice business ….
