Hecks Cider

The Hecks family have been making traditional Somerset farmhouse cider in Street for six generations, since 1840. In 1896 we started to make and supply our cider for the general public.
Chris Hecks is seen here drawing off some liquid magic for a customer. A family business producing juice, cider and honey from orchards buzzing with bees, the Hecks also have a farm shop. A new venture for 2012 is the introduction of the fermented honey drink, mead. Cider continues to be made on a small scale on several Somerset farms and in doing so, help to preserve the old orchards that are an intrinsic part of the county's landscape.
